Navajo Code Talkers at New York City Veteran's Day Parade

More than a dozen Navajo Indian Code Talkers bundled up against the cold to ride on a float in today's New York City Veteran's Day Parade.  The float was sponsored by Home Box Office, promoting a new original series, The Pacific, about World War 2.

The Navajo Code Talkers served with the US Marines in the Pacific theater during World War 2, including the battles on the island of Guadalcanal.  They used their native language to prevent the Japanese from decoding the meaning of the communications.
