Father's Day hits and misses[1] |
A Gift for Hits and Misses
This father's day, my children gave me a gift I will always remember. It is a gift I will likely use every father's day for the rest of my life. I will also use it several hundred times between future father's days. It is a gift that, by design, is made for hits, but will surely produce misses. It is a beautiful used shotgun for me to use while shooting skeet. This is a gift that will be handed-down for generations -- to future fathers.
My children have never let me down on father's day. They always give me something special, whether material or otherwise. This father's day, they went one step more and took me skeet shooting and cooked me lunch on the grill at my favorite club. What a great day I had.
What a great family I have. I love my children. I love my wife. They love me. And their love is really all I need. My new (used) shotgun is just frosting on the cake.
