    Can Construction Competition

     

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     sjunat55 attended 'Canstruction' in New York City on Sunday, November 15. He described the event, which takes place in cities around the world, as 'a creative and beautiful version of a charity.'

    One of the most unique charity events."Canstruction", brings together engineers, architects, students and volunteers in a competition designing structures made of cans...un-opened food cans.

     

    Over 100 cities in the U,S, will join New York City in holding a Canstruction event this year, its 17th in the city.

     

    In New York the competition and exhibit is taking place at the Winter Garden of the World Financial Center in Lower Manhattan.

     

    The can-sculptures will be judged and after the exhibit will be dismantled and the cans donated to City Harvest.

     

    City Harvest provides food to over 600 programs around New York.
