    Cans Compete in NYC

     

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     sjunat55 attended 'Canstruction' in New York City on Sunday, November 15. He described the event, which takes place in cities around the world, as 'a creative and beautiful version of a charity.'

    Here are some more pictures of the Canstruction competition, an event that has top architectural. engineering and other firms design structures made entirely out of un-opened cans of food.

    Once judged, the sculptures will be dismantled and the cans donated to City Harvest, who provides food to over 600 programs in New York.

    5-Detail of Lend A Helping CAN, Dattner Architects, 1,776 cans.

    6-Langman Engineering's It's Raining CANs"- 1,000 cans

    7-NYC's Transit Authority's Light at the End of the CANarsie Tunnel. 2,852 cans.

    8-Arup's "Wiping Out Hunger, Dude", 2,720 cans making a wave for the added surfer to ride.

    9-WeCAN Feed the World.
