In Portugal Three pregant women lost their children after taking the H1N1 Vacine

In Portugal, three pregnant women lost their children after taking the H1N1 vaccine, said the authorities of the hospitals where the women check in.

The same authorities, believe that the reason is not due to the, vaccine but to some other complications. Autopsies and further tests are been made to determined the reasons of the dead.

One of the women to whom the 34 weeks fetus died, said that she did not found any reaction after taking  the vaccine. She only notice that the baby was moving more. Doctors say that it is normal, due to the advance stage of the pregnancy.

After the forced labor, doctors examed the fetus and did not found any apparently reason for the death. The umbilical cord was not around the neck ( a common cause of fetus death). The doctors also said, that they will be waiting for the results of the autopsies to determine the cause of death.

On another women, the autopsy of the child showed that the cause of dead was "alterations of the blood flow".

Pregnant women in Portugal are getting substantially worried about if they should take the H1N1 vaccine. Many are refusing even to the advise of their doctors. However the Portuguese Health authorities say that is not cause for alarm and that further investigations will follow.

An  European Community delegation of doctors  from the Medication European Agency, are examining the facts of the those cases before pronouncing  any statements.

The vaccine given in Portugal is different from the one in the USA.  The countries using the same H1N1 vaccine as Portugal are: Germany, Sweden, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
