Ireporter Epiphany
It's true. I have received enlightment from none other than Kim Kardashian?!?!
CNN sent out a call for ireporters to ask Kardashian a question. Originally, mine was going to be very harsh and judgmental: You media whore! How are you different from Balloon Boy's parents? After all, Kim leads an outrageous lifestyle designed to lure viewers for her reality show.
I felt incredibly superior until I realized that I do what I can to 1. lure CNN/HLN into accepting my videos, even to the point of making them outrageous, and 2. lure viewers to watch my ireports and thereby give me higher ratings.
How am I different from Kim Kardashian? That was a very scary realization. I am glad that my livelihood does not depend upon the media, and I'm glad I get my sense of self-worth from a loving God and from my pets.
People, after all, favor one thing one day and another the next. I have to be very careful to NEVER get my self-esteem from humans!
