    Mammogram Solutions

Cancer Fears Grip the Nation fueling the mammogram controversy.

To Radiate or not to Radiate?

    That is the Question!

Weather it is better to suffer the risk of cancer causation in order to detect minute cancer otherwise unseen, unfound and undetected, a minute cancer or non-cancerous pre-cancerous change which is otherwise minimally affecting the person.

First there are most definitely other clinically effective breast screening methods in addition to regular  breast self-exams.

Breast Thermography is often cited as  more effective in detecting the inflammatory changes in the breast tissue that are associated with cancer.   Thermography will not light up to non-cancerous changes such as non-inflammatory breast cysts.   Thermography will light up with any inflammatory changes.    Even if it's not cancer, you probably would want to have the inflammatory breast problems treated.   So we are covering two bases with a less expensive and less harmful clinical exam that is often more sensitive finding cancer in earlier stages.

MRI is also often used in parallel  with the standard x ray mammograms.      MRI has also revealed areas that the  standard x ray mammograms failed to reveal.   MRI exams do not expose the patient to x ray radiation.     MRI give a detailed image of the tissues as good as or better than  standard x ray mammograms.

Ultrasound is also used in parallel with the standard x ray mammograms.  Ultrasound images are not a detailed as  standard x ray mammograms but give useful diagnostic information.

There are other safer screening methods that women should enjoy, employ and feel safer using.

By postponing and limiting exposure to mammograms and cancer causing x ray irradiation,  hopefully the women will pass on before the cancers from the standard x ray mammograms screening procedures pop up and show their face.       The decision is also supported by the data that more harm comes to the women in their 40's as a group from the standard x ray mammograms.

These changes are in harmony with the current  recommendations for Men with Prostate Cancer, to avoid screening PSA and for 90% of MEN to avoid  any and all standard chemotherapy, radiation or surgery for prostate cancer.      More harm comes from regular MD oncology than from the prostate cancer in 90% of men.

Of course, this and all health care information and decisions should be discussed with a health care professional.
