This iReport is part of an assignment:
My City, My Secret |
where the dogs run free..and the mushrooms grow
Bois de Vincennes..where the dogs run free and the mushrooms grow...
just at the city-limits of paris...yesterday..
lots of freedom for dogs in Paris,.
.however there is a leash law..more and more restrictions but most restaurants and some hotels will accept them and if your dog isn't too-too large you get "get away" with bringing them on the metro...and perhaps that's the origin of the term tou tou, referring to small dog, .
regarding the mushrooms:...after questioning a number of caretakers/gardeners in Bois de Vincennes as to what the variety of mushrooms might be, I was told that, based on the history of the Chateau de Vincennes, which served as a prison to the infamous Marquis de Sade, the locals referred to them as "champignon de Sade"....
