    Obama email: terrorism of Change

A few minutes ago, an email of BarackObama.com lit all my alarm bells. I am not a supporter of Sarah Palin. In fact, I think that her appearances are unintelligible. However, to brand Palin’s attacks on the weak health reform as ‘dangerous’ by Obama’s propaganda branch borders on spiritual terrorism and on an attack against the very foundation of America’s Democracy. It is a fundamental right of every citizen of the United States and also of every non-citizen to speak their opinion within certain limitations. A dialogue between competing parties is the blood of freedom and progress. If health reform can only survive the review process by silencing the opposition, Americans should listen up. The promise of Change might end up to be no more as empty talk, of which I thought Americans had enough of a year ago. The email is more disturbing given the fact that President Obama has literally unlimited access to air time of the national media to defend and promote the health reform.

Instead of engaging in a low-ball bullying of Palin, the President might be better off coming out of his slumber and pick up the fights that he promised. For example, he promised to create three million jobs (which later mutated into ‘save or create’). But how 15 million unemployed Americans have all of a sudden become an acceptable status quo by the community organizer turned American President is beyond my grasp.

    The email is reprinted below.

H.R. Tschudi, economist and entrepreneur, Vancouver

    “H.R. --

Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn.

It's dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term "Death Panels" -- and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists.

Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.

As we approach the final sprint on health reform, we can't afford more deception and delay. We need to be ready for anything -- and have the resources to respond with ads, events, and calls to Congress when the attacks come.

So we're setting a big goal: $500,000 in the next week to help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies.
Please chip in $5 to help reach our goal.
