Cervical Cancer in Young Women,Breast Cancer in Women
I am appalled at the new cervical cancer guidelines. I think those new
guidelines, suggestions , of study result are ridiculous. 35 years ago I had an abnormal Pap smear that required Cryrosurgery for abnormal cervical cells . I have not had a problem since. I was told those cells were precancerous and if not caught I would have been at high risk for cancer. That was then not sexually active till 22 , a year later I had abnormal cellsof the cervix. I have a Pap every year.
No problem in 35 years.
Young women are sexually active much younger than I ever was.
The age of 16-18 or younger is not uncommon. They are at high risk if genetically predisposed or prone to for whatever reason when sexually active this young. I think the every year after sexual activeness works. Old guidelines work with the evidence. This is the second time this week ,women's health is being adressed with inadequate data. I don't think many cancer doctors are going to adhere to this.
Cancer is being well diagnosed with medical guidelines as they are. The picture is how a cervical cancer looks .
