    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     subterra told me he was part of the crowd that stayed in this building, but he eventually left so that he could help others who chose to stay inside.

    Hundreds of students gathered in and around UC Davis' Mrak hall (the main administration building) to protest a 32% hike in tuition over the next year.  This tuition hike brings in state tuition to over $10,000/year.  The building was eventually occupied by students.  52 students were arrested.
