Applaud The Beatles: Martha My Dear
"Martha my dear though I spend my days in conversation...Please"
Friday afternoon, time to relax after a busy week. That's a cold Israeli weekend, exactly, cold. I'm not used to this cold weather and don't like it at all.
Turns on the computer, back to my old regular iTunes playlist. Another Israeli rock band, Coldplay with Viva La Vida, The Black eyed Peas, some British Punk and a bit of Queen again.
Time for a change. I'm a young fellow, not going to reveal my exact age, but younger enough to say I don't know The Beatles as adults does. My full playlist exhibits a variety of music generes , a true display of the world's top music. Is it possible to name it 'world's top music' without The Beatles? no.
Last month, my cousin put an end to my 'Beatles ignorance' when he lent me five of the Beatles' albums. Slowly, I have listened them all.
Back to today's afternoon: I felt a true need for a relaxing songs when the very loud Balaclava by Arctic Monkeys finished. Jason Mraz is a good option, but I've listened to him too many times recently.
Suddenly, I saw The White Album on the shelf. "The Beatles" album, released in 1968, is commonly known as The White Album.
Now, that I have the simple knowledge about five different albums, I could easily recognize what song fits my necessity for a calm afternoon.
With an amusing piano escort, Martha My Dear had done a great job, both relaxing and entertaining song. The song was written by Paul McCartney, surprisingly, inspired inspired by McCartney's Old English Sheepdog, also named Martha.
"Hold your head up you silly girl look what you've done..."
