This iReport is part of an assignment:
Salute to troops |
Half of My Heart is in Afghanistan
This salute is from Meghan Moore to her husband Michael Christopher Moore who is a First Lieutenant in the US Army and currently deployed in Afghanistan.
Michael has been in the US Army for 5 years. He believes this was his calling-to serve our country with pride. He stated in a recent letter, "God gives us all different gifts, some He gives the ability to communicate, lead, heal, etc. All play a part in making a difference in someone's life. If you are doing what God wants you to do there should be no complaining. 100 hour weeks, small meals, no sleep should be taken with pride and be worn
proudly on your chest as a medal because you are fulfilling your mission."
Michael is truly a remarkable person in my life. He has such a kind heart and soul-wanting to make a difference in someone's life. His strength,
determination and motivation, as well as living a faith-based life, keeps me strong especially during tough times like deployment. I've never met
someone who has such a passion for life. It has been a long journey for both of us, but I know the Lord has a plan for us. And He will bring Michael home safely so we can continue that journey together. The Army life isn't easy at times, but it sure makes you a whole lot stronger in the end. It also makes you appreciate each other much more than you can ever imagine. The love we
have for each other is unbelievable. I am so proud of my husband. I am a proud Army Wife of a proud Soldier! I love you, babe with all my heart.
Continue to stay strong, have faith and hope!
