    iReport for CNN

    HI/U.S. Occupation http://www.lava.net/~hawngovt/

Because of the depth, width and breadth of the issues surrounding the US occupation of Hawaii-nei, we wonder why blinders have been put on and no one in 'America', (as we refer to folks on the Mainland), does not understand, and like the native indians of the mainland, the US government has stolen our lands our language, their -ha needs some serious mouthwash. Every request in the past for media to take hold or storyline the issues that we are faced with we get zero support. The Hawaiian nationhood does not want to be an entity under the US but rather an indepent nation. There is the feeling that Hawaiian born president will help right the wrongs, we are hopeful that a combination of media coverage or Obama's directive to cease and desist, and release the  holdings they have since the overthrow 1893 'obtained' in their coffers. The activities surrounding the overthrow story starts with wealthy business westerners and the US marines began to steal everything dear to the indiginous peoples, lands, language and all things cultural continues at risk. Local governors and other politicians are busy lining their pockets while our plights are ignored ongoing and to this day.
