Travel photo of the day |
Nehalem Beach, OR
I took this photo looking back to the east after flying my small airplane to Nehalem Bay Airport in Oregon. I noticed that the weather was changing rapidly, and as a pilot, was quite anxious about the incoming clouds - we would not be able to fly through them having only a private pilot's license at the time. So, out of interest and anxiety I began taking pictures of the cloud and landscape. After spending a few hours on the beach, the weather had continued to deteriorate and I decided we should leave, and narrowly escaped a solid cloud ceiling but made it back to Portland safely. I was home from college during winter break, and brought my mom with me on this trip - it was almost 70 degrees at the coast that day, despite being much colder in Portland!
