Camping Out For Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin, former Gov of Alaska, is scheduled to appear at Roanoke's Barnes and Noble Sunday November 22 to sign and promote her highly publicized and controversial new book. At 10:30 pm the night before, over 100 people had already gathered, braving declining temps in the low 40s in front of and wrapped around the sides of the B&N bookstore and the adjacent shops in this strip mall. Hoping to shake the charismatic politician's hand and get the autographed copy of her memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life" men and women of all ages wrapped themselves in blankets, snuggled down in portable chairs and tents, and munched snacks while milling around and chatting with the large gathering. The signing is scheduled for 10 AM and autograph seekers are required to produce a receipt to secure the required wristband in order to get a maximum of 2 autographs. From the looks of things at B&N though, dedicated fans have brought reinforcements - friends and family in order to stock up. Since her 2008 campaign for Vice President, the world has watched her rise to political infamy, fall from grace in the eyes of some, and now notoriously emerge from smoldering political ashes as a tell-all successful author. "Going Rogue" is anticipated to be a tell-it-like-it-is memoir of this extraordinary woman's life, loves, accomplishments, and her crash course in acquiring new wisdom and insight regarding American politics. She may have lost the 2008 election, but it's obvious that her tenacious fight for whatever end this passionate trail blazer envisions for herself, her family, and her country, ain't over yet.
