Natioal Day of Fasting
November 22, 2009The Honorable Hillary ClintonSecretary of State2201 C St., NWRm. 7226Washington, DC 20520Re: National Day of FastingSecretary Clinton:From a statistical standpoint, a National or International day of Fasting, would create a surplus in the food supply. "The fields are white for harvest, but the laborers are few?" or "this one is conquered with prayer and fasting." The days are short at hand for a National Day of Fasting, which I would not require as all three meals or of children and sickly or in the swine flu risk age groups. But like a boycott, or certain religious holidays or The Great American Smoke Out, we should be able to create a food surplus for the economy in income, and cold, hard winter days. The Pharisee, although not the one who went down to his house more righteous, fasted twice a week, and gave to the community. He gossip was rejected as the Publicans prayer was accepted. But even in The Great Depression, they would say to pull yourself up, by your boot straps and tighten your belt a notch (which would mean to go or avert hunger and labor by fasting). I thought of certain food groups, like rice, people could still endure for that day to function and sleep. You can visualize the ramifications of such a day, and plenty at lower costs. Saving hardships for the less fortunate or financially challenged. Will we find the laborers of fasting (in the winter snow), and bear a great bounty, by just one hearty meal. We can do this in baby steps or for the strong in due season. Think about it and end hunger and poverty (conditions that will be conquered with prayer and fasting.) Amen.Sincerely,David Pedjoe508-842-0103David Pedjoe sent this message via Congress.org, which uses the Capwiz·XC system. Congress.org is a free public service of Capitol Advantage and Knowlegis, LLC.
