Travel photo of the day |
Tohono O'odham
This shot was taken on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation in Arizona, United States (pronounced Toh-ho-no Aut-um). The reservation is home to many modernized aboriginal native Americans, but also elders who still practice old ways of life. In Sells, the center and main capital of the reservation, there are shops, resuraunts, and a community college where the locals sell goods, great for souveniers. The reservation is also home to Kit Peak, one of the most highly acclaimed solar observatories in the world. Visitors can get tours at night when the observers start their day.
