National Corvette Museum
The newly expanded National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, is definably a car lovers paradise! With over 70 vehicles on display, you'll be able to see the first car produced by Corvette along with many others which have a great history.
In the 1950's this man harley Earl wanted to design a new type of car. And in fact he did just that, not just a car, but what is still considered America's Favorite Sports Car. In it's first year of production, in 1953 Only 300 Corvettes were produced with a price tag of only thirty five hundred dollars compare that to today's price of about 48000 dollars.
Gearing up for the 10 year anniversary of the Corvette, this man Bill Mitchell would design the next generation of this already popular car. He named it the Sting Ray, as he was inspired by the creature on a recent trip. It is very noticeable in the design of this model of actually seeing the shape of this magnificent creature. He wanted it to be able to move freely and look good doing it.
Corvette continued it's success and in 1981 Corvette moved it's operations to Bowling Green. Since then the opening of the National Corvette Museum has attracted millions of visitors. If you come to the museum you'll be able to see some of the first real sport engines, the inside luxuries of a corvette, see future models and even be able to become part of a corvette racing pit crew.
The museum hosts many events throughout the year for people to come and show off their corvettes including the Corvette Homecoming which takes place every July. Weather you just like looking at cars, or are a car enthusist the National Corvette Museum is definatly worth checking out.
