    Health Care Debate--Help!

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     melmel21 has chimed in to the health care debate. If you would like to respond, share your video here!
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

After reading through various articles, I still don't know where I stand.  I need help!

I interviewed people at a restaurant--most of whom did not have health coverage--to find out where they stood.  Most said they would appreciate a lower-priced health care option and felt it would be fair to be penalized for not buying insurance.

Alex, an aspiring director, who is covered under his parents' plan, feels as though it's "the government's responsibility to take care of their citizens."  He also sees the public option as "the only compromise offered so far with real potential."  What makes Alex nervous, is the option for some states to "opt out' and feels as though this will create problems in the future.

Matthew, who recently graduated from college and will begin his job in January, believes that "the health care system is fine the way it is."  He is currently covered under his parents' plan and will reap health care benefits with his new employer.

I spoke with a man a while back who said he was denied health coverage multiple times.  The first time was because he was prescribed a topical cream used to treat an infection from a bug bite.  Once he fought that rejection, he was rejected again, this time for a 'red flag' on his medical records that had actually been there the first time, but no one caught it.

Though my family has been affected--at one point three of my four family members were denied health coverage for minor reasons--I am still not sure where I stand.

    Please help me decide!
