Passions over health care reform |
Wa State to "cutback" health care program?
"basic health care Plan" if stopped will help the state cut 160 million$ from the reported 2.6 billion state budget deficit. 65,000 current members are reported to be mostly working low income status- with a waiting list of 80,000. .It is reported that this program is funded entirely by state money and does not "draw" any matching federal funds. one option to save the plan is to raise the income eligibility to 300% of the poverty level. the report states thousands have already been "bumped" from the program due to budget cuts earlier this year. the report states the hope is these people will one day be able to buy coverage directly from the government thru the new health care bill.
