A Celebration of Generosity, Turkey Dinner Give-Away
E.J. Jackson's Turkey Dinner Give-Away, seemed more like a block party! The music played, they danced in line, and danced while volunteering. E.J.Jackson knows how to do it right! Mr. Jackson is the founder and president of Jackson's Limousine Service. His success has become his gift back to the community. Every year Mr Jackson has a one day, Turkey Dinner Give-Away. It is held in South Central Los Angeles. He has been doing this for over 25 years. The volunteers arrive at 4am and it is open to the public by 8am.They will go until the meals run out. Lyn Tavai, Vice President of Jackson's Limousine Services said, he will often go purchase more turkeys if need be.... "His heart is so big he just can't turn anyone away." People have come to count on this day, to create their Thanksgiving Feast. Some had been camped out since Sunday night. Today, they were lined up for blocks to receive their box of "Thanksgiving Goodies" Two lines were formed, one line was especially designated for the seniors and disabled. Their gratitude was evident. Many people wanted to talk to me and share their deep appreciation for Mr. Jacksons generosity. It is estimated that he has given over 100,000 turkeys throughout the last 25 years. This year will probably reach approximately 12,000. There have been manyThanksgiving dinners sponsored by many different organizations, throughout Los Angeles, but EJ Jacksons Turkey Dinner Give- Away, really was an incredible site to witness.
