This iReport is part of an assignment:
Wildfires blazing near you |
Anaheim Hills Wildfire
At appx. 10:30pm pst on Nov. 24th, a wildfire broke out in Anaheim Hills, Calif. Winds gusting up to 35 mph have spread the embers and are starting to threaten homes in the area. Toll road 241 has been shut down and will remain closed until further notice. This closure comes at a time when holiday travel is at it's peak. No one has been injured so far. The Orange County Fire Dept. can not fly helicopters at night so ground crews are working very hard to contain this fire. The Los Angeles fire dept. is allowed to fly helicopters at night if property or lives are in danger so they have been called to assist, no word at this time if they will be able to help us. High winds are expected in the area peaking between 3am and 8am but the red flag advisory, which was up all day, will remain up until appx. 10am.
