A week of sacrifice and celebration
A week of celebrations and festivals Started from 24th of this month in various parts of the world.
On 24th, it is a festival celebrated in Nepal in the village of Bariyapur, near the border with India as mark of respect to Goddess Gadhimai, a Hindu goddess of power. It was estimated on that day alone people sacrificed about 250000 animals (goats, sheeps, buffalos, pigeons chickens ..except cow because cow is considered sacred in Hindu religion). This festival is only practiced in remote parts of neighborin India which is largest Hindu population country in the world. Even after large number of petition and effort by animals right activist around the world and Hindu Religion Activists, Government of Nepal did not take required action but donated £36,500 to the event and has shown no sign of discontinuing the centuries-old tradition. Meat from sacrife is distibuted among family, friends and poor and some even sell the meat in the market. Contradictorily Hindu religious Actives say that "It was never said in the religion that sacrifice of a life will please the goddess. Sacrifice was never mentioned in our centuries old religious books (vedas, puranas, upanishads). Ignorant people partice this and get out of it on the name of religion. It is culture which ignorant people colored it with religion"
In 2009, Eid al-Adha will begin on approximately November 27th, and will last for three days. At the end of the Hajj (annual pilgrimage to Mecca), Muslims throughout the world celebrate the holiday of Eid al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice). During the Hajj, Muslims remember and commemorate the trials and triumphs of the Prophet Abraham.
During the celebration of Eid al-Adha, Muslims commemorate and remember Abraham's trials, by themselves slaughtering an animal such as a sheep, camel, or goat.
The meat from the sacrifice of Eid al-Adha is mostly given away to others. One-third is eaten by immediate family and relatives, one-third is given away to friends, and one-third is donated to the poor. The act symbolizes muslims willingness to give up things that are of benefit to us or close to our hearts, in order to follow Allah's commands. They feel it also symbolizes thier willingness to give up some of thier own bounties, in order to strengthen ties of friendship and help those who are in need. They recognize that all blessings come from Allah, and they should open our hearts and share with others. They believe Allah has given them (humans) power over animals and allowed them to eat meat, but only if we pronounce His name at the solemn act of taking life.
Few moderate muslims today disagree with this and avoid sacrifice animals on the name of GOD or Prophet Abraham and believe distribution of food and can be done with out killing animals on this occasion.
This year in northern America Thanksgiving is celebrated on October 12th in Canada and November 26th in USA is also marked and Turkey day. It is also celebrated in Netherlands and Grenada. There are many reasons for celebrate Thanksgiving like the harvest, national unity, spiritual renewal, national pride and Native American appreciation. Most people on this celebrate it by wafting aromas of roast turkey, spicy pumpkin pie, and all the trimmings that go with the holiday. For others it could be an easy day spent watching football games and kicking back with an easy meal with family and friends.
This week alone many animals and birds are killed, sacrificed and slaughter to please gods, prophets and help feed family and friends and part of celebration.
The point of this report is not criticize any race, religion or culture. I wanted to bring this news of sacrifices and killing of non human lives in this week alone. I AM REALLY SORRY IF ANY ONE IS HURT. I WISH HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERY ONE.

Thanks
