Restaurant Celebrates Thanksgiving Day by Feeding the Poor
This Thanksgiving, World Garden Restaurant has turned into a soup kitchen where the poor are served at nice tables holding flower centerpieces. Approximately 500 people were served by volunteers from donated food that was cooked last night by volunteers.
Rick and Cindy Boosey opened World Garden a year ago, in the deepest part of the recession. During the week, they serve salads, sandwiches, soups and exotic coffees. The Booseys close the restaurant every Sunday in order to serve as a soup kitchen for the poor.
