iReport —

At approximately 3:50pm today a fire broke out on the far side of New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport opposite Terminal 5, across runway 31R near an air cargo facility (nearest taxiway intersection Charlie/ Charlie Hotel). Emergency responders were quick to arrive at the scene where the fire was quickly put out. The cause of the fire has not been reported/ identified at this time. Speculation at this time points the cause at hazardous material located near a cargo pallet that caused the fire. No injuries have been reported. This fire appeared to have no effect on flight at one of the busiest airports in the world on one of the busiest air travel days of the year.
