    "New Moon" mania

New Moon's Ashley Greene does MMA Workouts to get in Shape for New Moon

Twilight Starlet Ashley Greene, that girl who played Alice Cullen apparently got in shape through mma training . In an interview from the Vancouver Sun she said: "I get to fight in Eclipse...My trainer is teaching me MMA right now. So. Cool."

New Moon had a lot of fight scenes and this ultimately prompted the actress to do mma training. She also does Taekwondo although she fears that she would still get beat up in a real fight.

The actress seem pretty serious though and she's training right now for advanced mma. Will we actually see her in a cage soon?

Nonetheless, it is pretty clear that MMA is really gaining popularity in North America and she is not the first celebrity to dive into the mma frenzy.

Shaquille O Neal also trains mma and also alluded to getting into the cage. He also had videos on youtube sparring with Oscar De la Hoya. Meanwhile, DMX, a popular rapper,  even had a fight scheduled but later cancelled due to unknown reasons.

It would be very interesting to see a celebrity to join a season of the Ultimate Fighter or even see Shaq fight against Brock Lesnar or something. I think its only a matter of time until this happens
