Obama's The New "Decider"----Let the Man Decide

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     W J O'Reilly, whose video commentary is often seen on CNN, says he thinks the timetable may drive more international support for the war. See more on O'Reilly's take on Afghanistan here.
    - lila, CNN iReport producer

President Obama’s announced finite incursion into Afghanistan has republicans clamoring about his “telegraphing” our intentions to the enemy and endangering our troops in the process.

Other critics are pointing to the President’s Nobel Peace Prize and his pacifist background.

Still others are critical of his attempts to be all things to all people in this uptick in our involvement in Afghanistan.

But you know, if there ever was any hope of getting international support for any of our military actions—and you will recall how absent international support was for Bush’s Iraq War—

Perhaps by making it a finite war—this will make it safer for other nations to get involved with us, sending their troops to Afghanistan for a limited engagement

    This could just work.

Besides, just as George Bush was the Decider---so is Barack Obama. He’s the new decider. Let the man decide.

And that’s something to think about.
