NYC Protest over Marriage Equality Bill

Today the NY State senate voted down a bill that would have given every New Yorker equal marriage equality under the law. Even 10 democrats voted against the bill. A blow to liberals and a blow to the Obama era that was supposedly going to usher in a wave of Eqaulity. I guess thats just one more thing that was "Yes We Can" and now turned in to "oh now we can't!"

Photos from the Times Square, NYC protest that happened just hours after the NY State government voted against equality. The popular "I Heart NY" logo was quickly altered to "I Un-Heart NY"

Photos are courtesy of Jay Slot and Kevin Bell who both attended the protest and told me that even in the rain, the crowd was quite large and everyone was civil and was there to show and let their voices be heard. "Equality - Nothing more, Nothing less!"
