ireport roundtable 12/3/2009
I won't be able to make the roundtable meeting today, but wanted to share my thoughts on the topic.
As I understood, the producers at ireport.com are looking for ideas on how to better the superstar rating icon.
I emailed Henry earlier with an ireport link and a little insight I had on the situation. It demonstrates the special chemistry this community has (I think).
Recently I've been looking at the regular contributors to ireports, but mostly certain ones. I have thought about the superstar icon (I notice mine disappears when I don't spend a certain amount of time here?) either way, I am not concerned one way or another personally, BUT, for certain regulars like Ryn, for example, I think contribute in ways that go beyond just superstar status. Also, ireportwo, who spends a lot of time commenting and uploading blog type reports, dropped a link to the ireport I forwarded to Henry (that I mentioned earlier).
It started a chain of events that sent me reeling (sort of). THE point I am hacking away at is that I am glad the ireport.com staff has decided to take a look at the superstar icon, I think certain contributors deserve a special, "hand selected VIP" icon. -- As fickle, spoiled, whiney, bust most of all communal and civil to one another as they are, this ireport community of regular contributors (in my opinion) already have it made in the shade, the staff here seriously caters and spoils us all, BUT, since you brought it up,...
I say give the Ryns, and Chris Morrows some special "Hand Selected VIP" permanent badges.
anyhow, hope the roundtable goes well.
