This iReport is part of an assignment:
Obama's Afghanistan decision |
Exit Strategy and Job Retention
The fact that President Obama chose to announce his Afghanistan policy and hold a jobs summit in the same week is slightly ironic when you stop and think about it. If we continue to fight in one war or another for the remainder of this century the prospect of joining the military and having a consistent source of income isn't such a bad idea. Of course if we continue to get involved in conflicts based on fabricated information as was the case with Iraq and not focus on countries in this world that we have more than enough evidence to justify a military response to such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran or even North Korea we end up destroying our own credibility as a world leader and the deaths of those who chose to protect our nation are left looking meaningless and equally as unjustified as the invasion of Iraq was in the first place.
Just a thought!
