Sexual Orientation is Not Black and White

Many people are of the opinion that sexual orientation and gender is a black and white issue. They believe every human being is either clearly male or clearly female, as identified by their sexual organ. In other words, they believe if you are born a man (with a penis) you are suppose to desire only women or a woman; and if you are born a woman (with a vagina) you are suppose to desire only men or a man.

Before I proceed with this issue of sexual orientation, I will say I’m heterosexual and nothing pleases me more sexually than a fine woman—the more famine she is the more I’m attracted. It is repulsive to me to see two men kissing. However, I don’t try to impose my feelings or views on others, for I know there is probably a gay man who is as pleased seeing a “fine” man and like wise a lesbian woman who’s please seeing a “fine” woman.

Biblical reference has no bearing on my opinion on this issue of sexual orientation. I just try to look at the facts. It is said every human began as female or at the least undetermined. But it is a fact all human beings DO NOT conveniently fit into the category of male or female as described above. There are some human beings who look female, have breasts like a female, but has only a penis sexual organ—called a shemale in common language. There are some human beings who look like a female, have breasts like a female, but has both a penis and a vagina. There are even human beings who look like a man but has a vagina. For all those people who use the Bible or other religious reference to justify who people should have sexual relationships with, I ask, does your Bible state the proper sexual relationship for shemales or those with both sexual organs? It does not. The fact is the people who wrote these books, didn’t understand human anatomy or psychology as they should have to make the statements they make. If God would have wanted human sexuality to be (so black and white) as stated in the first paragraph of this article, then God would not have made shemales; or hefemales (a human being that looks like a man, but has a vagina). It appears the shemales/hefemales confirms the fact that all humans began as female.

Now, give how complicated and varied human beings are both in physical and psychological makeup, it is not possible that human sexuality can be confined as stated in the first paragraph of this article. Furthermore, if the physical aspects of human sexuality—as in reality-- is not always black and white (i.e. shemales/hefemales), then how can anyone assume the psychological aspects of humanity sexuality can be so black and white. In other words, a man can in fact have a penis but his psychology may cause him to be attracted to other men, and like wise with some women.

This is the basis for which I, a heterosexual man, supports gay rights and same sex marriage. I would not oppose gay rights and same-sex marriage because I felt it threaten my sexual orientation and desire to be married to a woman. But I believe many people who are insecure in who or what they are, oppose gay rights and same sex marriage, because they believe if they supported gay rights and same sex marriage, that means they are in some way in the closet.

Aside for the physical and psychological aspects regarding sexual orientation from birth, we all must keep in mine the effects on people—from childhood to adulthood—of the commercialization of sex on TV and in movies, where especially women who are not at first lesbian, who enters the adult movie making business and are coerced into performing with other women and then come to like it, simply because sexual stimulation from any source does feel good, if you can get your mind to go alone.
