This iReport is part of an assignment:
Same-sex marriage: Civil right vs. states' rights |
My support of Gay Marriage as a ...Christian?!
Free Will
Morally, I disagree with same-sex relationships.
That's my belief, others know the reasons behind my belief, but choose to live their lives as their own. I choose to live my life differently.
I also believe that we all God's children and deserve to be treated equally by each other while on Earth.
If you disagree with the above statement, ponder on this...
Same sex couples can not get health care benefits from their partner, unless their is a legal partnership between them. By stopping same sex marriage, you are denying these people access to medical care that could save their life one day.
Who cares you say? - You don't want your tax dollars going to help sinners!?
Guess what? They do already, your tax dollars provide housing, food, and medical care for child rapists and serial killers in prison every day. But that's okay right? Or they don't deserve those rights either? Where does it stop then?
Jesus says in Matthew 19:24 "I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God..."
So the rich are sinners too?! No healthcare for them either! The Vatican has made fact that obscene weath is a moral sin also.
I had to chuckle as I wrote that, can you imagine if we didn't pick and choose from the bible what we wanted and actaully lived the bible to the exact word as written?
Back to basics
But today, that is what we do as a society. We forget the basic message of God as far as our interactions with others- love thy neighbor.
How many of us hooting and hollering about same sex marriage give of ourselves? Do you keep enough money just to get by and give the rest to the less fortunate? No!? How could you buy more house then you need and those designer shoes knowing that another child of God is starving on this earth?! YOU SINNER! No healthcare for you either...
Try to put yourself under God's microscope before throwing others under your own.
