This iReport is part of an assignment:
Same-sex marriage: Civil right vs. states' rights |
Heterosexual Mariage
I feel like any person who thinks that allowing gays the equal rights to marry is imposing or attacking the sanctity of marriage needs to have a nice big slice of humble pie.
First of all, I use Christian as an example because most people posting appear to follow this religion, Christianity shouldn't be an exclusive night club that sticks up its nose to anyone not fighting the cannon. This isn't directly relevent to my argument, but Christianity is based on unconditional LOVE and FORGIVENESS. If you call yourself a Christian, you should be embracing the gifts that homosexuality brings the world (an answer to overpopulated orphanages and breeders who can't seem to stop having children in our already overpopulated world).
And I certainly do not hear a lot of Christians picketing at the marriages of atheists, pagans, agnostics, cheaters, wife beaters, and other sorts of people.
If you want marriage to be a privelege only given to the chosen few, then you need to start shunning EVERYONE who is doing anything to upset the "sanctity" of marriages.
And priests should be the only ones to give out marriage licenses. And they should bless them. And bless the couple.
And no one should be allowed to marry outside of a church. That means no outdoor weddings. No Vegas weddings.
Oh, and no divorce. Ever. Regardless of the circumstance.
Clearly, everything that has been stated here is RIDICULOUS. There is no way to make marriage perfect and holy. Especially when there are so many different people from different walks of life WORTHY and DESERVING of marriage.
Stop being hypocritical. If you're going to shun one group, shun them all. Equally. (Or get your head out of your ass and realize that human beings are human beings, they deserve to be treated as such!)
