Remembering John 29 Years Later
December 7, 2009 | New York, New York | Vetting explained
On December 8, 1980 John Lennon was murdered in front of his New York home, the Dakota.
29 Years, and fans still come to the entrance of the building, to Strawberry Fields in Central Park- some of them grew up with his music, like a woman playing tapes on a boom-box by the Imagine mosaic- some weren't even born when he was killed, like members of a band who played his songs on the band shell.
All Those Years Ago, and we still remember.
I took these photos on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Dakota and Central Park in Manhattan's West Side in New York City where Lennon lived the last years of his life.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
