    Swim across the Sea of Cortez, an adventure!

     

    San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur.- This morning started swimming toward the port of Mazatlan Diego González.

     

    This journey will be over 190 miles where he will face the dangerous currents of the Sea of Cortez.

     

    While going escorted by a Mexican Navy frigate, Diego González takes also a special swimsuit and be protected by a network to avoid attacks by sharks and other predator species in the Sea of Cortez.

     

    This is the first time in history that a person swim across the Sea of Cortez.

     

    Diego began on September 3 in Anchorage, Alaska, this adventure with a distance of 6 thousand-mile; final goal is the resort city of Cancun.

     

    For this route rides a bamboo bike in order to raise funds for UNICEF and draw attention to people on terrestrial climate change.

     

    But Diego says his main message is to tell people that nothing is impossible.

     

    Diego also says he has a good physical preparation for this swimming journey.

     

    A Navy frigate escort Diego on this trip that will take about 16 days.

     

    With sufficient provisions and water, this young man will swim 12 hours a day from 6 am to 6 pm. The team also includes a navy doctor.
