This iReport is part of an assignment:
iReport for CNN |
Dana's Legacy
- hhanks, CNN iReport producer
Gayle Slate was 20 years old when she gave birth to her first child, Dana. But when the doctor told her and her husband their baby girl had cerebral palsy, they grew up overnight. Dana's life and death inspired Gayle to go back to school and counsel families and their children with disabilities. The poignant lessons of their journey lead to the book - Dana's Legacy and founding a national inclusion organization, Kids Included Together (KIT).
Check out my interview with Gayle and see how you can help others.
