May The Force Be With You
It all started with a model of the Millennium Falcon I picked up in 1997. It fit nicely on my CRT monitor at the time. I brought it into work to see the reaction I would get. I was surprised to see how much of an ice-breaker it could be.
The Falcon was Solo for several years and different companies. Finally, I decided to add an element of the Dark Side with Darth Vader's Tie Fighter. Soon a shroud of darkness (black fabric spray painted with glitter on the walls and black construction paper on the desk) fell over my cube as the rest of the Imperial Fleet started to show up. It became rather chilly when an AT-AT arrived and took over my whiteboard. Luke's X-Wing came to assist as did a Snow Speeder. The crown jewel arrived with the Imperial Shuttle and my cube hasn't been the same since.
With the advent of flat screens, balancing the ships has become a small engineering feat. It could be more than gravity but I see the Falcon tilting as if it were flying into attack position.
Now more than an ice-breaker, many just come by to see the display. Enjoy!
