Change a Child and Change the World
Yuma Youth Choir Needs Your Support Now!
December 12, 2009
For the past several weeks, I yearned to hear carolers sing glorious Christmas music live. Today, amazingly, I got my wish! As I walked into our local Barnes and Noble Bookstore, I heard astonishing sounds of Christmas music. Immediately, I walked towards the music to determine where the sound was coming from and to my surprise, it was not piped in music, but musical voices of young carolers singing my most favorite Christmas carols.
I was there with others listening so carefully to each note that flowed from their voices in amazement, and of course, I could not just stand there after they sang a song; I had to request “Jingle Bell Rock” one of my favorite tunes, and of course, they knew every word of the song.
Soon after, I learned that the choir is participating in the 2010 American Celebration of Music in Italy at the end of June 2010. However, they cannot do it without our support; therefore, they are earning their way by performing concerts, participating in fund raisers, and by receiving monetary contributions from donators. The choir is a non-profit organization with a 501(c)3 status.
If you would like to contribute, sponsor a particular choir member or members; please contact Dr. Beth Tibbs, the Yuma Youth Choir Founder and Director at (928) 317-6019 or Sandy Hayes, Yuma Youth Choir Business Manager at (928)329-0876.
Remember, you will change a child and change the world through supporting the Yuma Youth Choir.
