San Diego Fire Department - Commercial Structure Fire
San Diego, CA - Firefighters battled a large fire in the Point Loma area of the city Sunday night and into Monday morning.
The fire, in a two-story commercial building, was reported at about 9:30 p.m. (PST) Sunday night, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue department.
First-arriving firefighters quickly called for a second-alarm.
Firefighters initially entered the building and began attacking the flames, while other firefighters climbed to the roof and cut holes to allow heat and smoke to escape. Minutes later, flames were blowing out of the roof and upper-floor windows. Firefighters retreated from the roof and from inside the building when the fire engulfed the second floor.
Firefighters then set up nozzles from four aerial ladders and poured water on the fire from above, while other firefighters continued dousing flames from ground level - outside the building.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The building housed the corporate offices of Deja Vu/Showgirls and Blow Out Video.
