This iReport is part of an assignment:
Travel photo of the day |
Angkor Wat, Cambodia
I’m adding captions to all the photos, taken Wednesday, November 18, 2009 @ Angkor Wat, Cambodia.
#1. This was taken during sunset of the Angkor Wat Temple, this particular temple offers different views depending on the day but the best views are at sunset.
#2. This was the entrance to the many temples surrounding Angkor Wat, what fascinated me was the face carving. I had to look twice before realizing it was a face.
#3. This temple was where Angelina Jolie filmed Tomb Raider and a very popular site amongst tourists.
#4. The wall carvings were one of my favorite parts of visiting the temples. Such details and when you think about how old they are, left me breathless.
#5. More carvings from the temples, this was one of the busier ones. So much history and so much is said by this one carving.
#6. We were walking from one temple to the next and I see this man in his swimsuit. I asked my tour guide what was in the bag and he said, that’s your local fisherman. I literally saw him dip under water and back up with a fish in the bag. WOW!
#7. We were passing one many check points and I wanted to take a picture of what a local policeman looked like.
#8. During certain times of the day, you will see quite a number of monkeys just hanging out near the street. Some were sorting through the liter and others hoping for tourists to feed them. Whatever the case was, these little creatures were ADORABLE!
#9. This was taken as Angkor Wat was closing and we were all walking to our tuk tuk (their versions of taxis). As we walked, I was exhausted of the long day of sightseeing, took a deep breath and looked up. This photo was my view and I again was left breathless. Immediately pulled out my camera and took pictures, this shot is actually my desktop background.
Hope you enjoyed my iReport.
