CNN producer note

sjsujourn163 journalism students tackled a similar theme in their iReports: 'Four stories are part of a special assignment series on homelessness and poverty here in America's high technology center, the Silicon Valley. Each story takes a unique angle and ties into a dynamic new plan by the local Catholic Charities group which wants to eliminate poverty here by the year 2020. To do that, the first step requires everyone waking people up to tough reality than anyone, even here, can lose everything.'
- hhanks, CNN iReport producer

iReport —

Step Up Silicon Valley is committed to cutting poverty in half by the year 2020 and they're doing that in several ways by organizing the community to advocate and develop services around food, housing, healthcare, education and income.
