This iReport is part of an assignment:
British Airways strike |
British Airways strike
I am a British citizen living in Bermuda where the only direct carrier to the U.K is BA, they monopolise that service here and have done so for a number of years, with very high travel costs. During summer months May through October a flight to the U.K can cost over a $1300 per person(yes you did read that correctly). During winter months it can still cost in excess of $800.
On January 1st 2010 i will be getting married here on the island, my Father and step Mum are due to fly here with British Airways on the 30th of December so he can be at my wedding to give me away. They paid 547.00 pounds each to get here.
I have been looking at alternative routes to get them here and a lot of the airline carriers travelling to the west coast at that time of year are full and then if i can get them to the U.S.A to get a connecting flight to Bermuda, the flight the get here is in excess of a $1000. What do i do!!!!
I would love to say i will never fly BA if this strike goes ahead but how else would i get to the U.K.
