    Earth quake intensity 6.0 Richter scale shook Portugal

    In Portugal, at 1:37am, it was felt an earthquake with the intensity of 6.0 on the Richter scale.

     

    Idalina Veludo, from the Seismologic Department of the Meteorological Institute of Portugal, confirmed that at 1:37 am (local time) on Thursday December 17 2009, an earthquake of 6.0 intensity, was felt through out the all country. No damages or victims were reported.

     

    The epicenter was at about 100km ( 60 miles) South West of Cape St. Vicente in the Portuguese province of Algarve.

    Since then, 16 after shoks on the scale 1.9 to 2.6 were felt.

    The Portuguese Civil Defense confirmed that no damages or victims were reported up now.

    The earthquake was also felt in Spain and Morocco with no knowledge of damages or victims.
