Celebrities Read The Night Before Christmas for Charity

From modern day Hercules Kevin Sorbo, comedian Carlos Mencia and NASCAR’s Jimmie Johnson to American Idol Adam Lambert and the voice of Desperate Housewives Brenda Strong – all took a few minutes out of their day, wherever they happened to be, to share this story with our children "The Night Before Christmas". Each celebrity  read a page from the beloved poem and some of them were able to autograph a copy of the book, which was  auctioned (2009) eBay to benefit the National Foundation for Autism Research’s San Diego Autism Teachers Grant program. ( ) Everyone donated time and talent so that 100% of the proceeds of the book auction went towards making a difference.

I wanted to create a gift that gives back and could make a difference in my community. With the help of the many celebrities that I got to know through my work with CNN, I created a special performance of the holiday classic 'The Night Before Christmas'  to help increase awareness of the power of reading to children. Spending just 15 or 20 minutes of your time reading with a child is a simple act that can have a huge impact for EVERY child, anywhere.

    Bond, James Bond George Lazenby
    Comedian Carlos Mencia
