This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your Family Journey |
Shiva Linga comes to USA
Other years, when there used to be snowfall, I used to make a Snowman and my son Mohit really used to have a blast helping me. This year, it was hard to make a round shape so we decided to make something different. My family is Hindu and Himalayas are considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva, one of the Hindu trinity. So we decided to make a Shiva Linga. This structure is found in most Hindu temples and is highly revered and worshipped as a depiction of Lord Shiva himself. We collected the snow in our balcony and after half an hour of labor, Shiva Linga, our own take on the snow was made. There is still a nicely lit Christmas Tree adorning the living room showing our approach to life in the U.S., being Roman while in Rome.
