Calling all cartoonists |
David Pugliese, Argentine cartoonist
David Pugliese, Argentine cartoonist
I play with my cartoons, I modify and exaggerate reality, in a personal way. I do each drawing as a new challenge, -says plastic young Argentine artist David Pugliese, who has a graphic work, unique and attractive.
David was born in 1978 in Quilmes, Buenos Aires. He is a freelance illustrator who has published his drawings in various media such as Reader s Digest and Bavoice of Argentina, Editorial and magazine SQP BOOM!, U.S. and others. His cartoons have been part of several group exhibitions displayed in the Palais de Glace, French Alliance, Space 10 Art Gallery and Museum of Fine Arts, all in Buenos Aires.
In August of 2008. David Pugliese, a member of the Association of Argentinean illustrator, made his first solo exhibition, "Ilustraturas and Caricanciones" at the National University of Quilmes.
A good cartoon should reflect the "soul" of the caricatured - says David
Some characters leave quickly, others not. Sometimes I make several sketches to get to something that will convince me. First use the line, and when I make the picture that interests me, I step to the original medium (paper, cardboard, canvas, etc.).. The techniques I use are varied: graphite pencil, colored pencils, ink, acrylic, oil..
Film characters, literary figures, athletes, politicians ... attracting the attention of personal caricatures done David, with a creative and incisive eye.
