    Samcheok, South Korea --  Photos of the first sunrise on the shores of South Korea.  Thousands of people flock to the east coast of South Korea every year to watch the first sunrise of the year.  Most will attend ceremonies and festivals held in a countless number of cities, towns, and fishing villages at their local "Sunrise Park".  These sunrise parks are in areas of shoreline that have been determined to have an optimal viewing vantage.  These shots were taken from an old army outlook post, not far from Samcheok's "Wishing Tower".
