    Intern'l Fun in Second Life

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     any1gynoid is always on top of cultural happenings in the virtual world of Second Life.
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

Who is the hardest working man in Second Life (SL) show business? That old James Brown moniker! lol Yes, there really is one! I swear! Let's find out!

He works 10 hour days in SL, 6 days a week. His family eats from his SL income and SL puts a roof over their heads. He is the consummate master of not 1 but 2 music genres in SL. Runs a band in RL and SL. Does straight-laced classical, jazz, AND megafun Latin pop. Does standalone gigs and group jams. He is dead serious musician, and incredible music funster. This man owns the SL "vision", big time.

But, you say, how is that possible Any? Ah yes, through the magic of alternative avatars (avis). Horacios Allen is Winters Kanto is Horacios Allen & Shamanes. Horacios is the leader of Shamanes, an Argentinean band in RL and SL. Shamanes plays incredibly joyous Latin fiesta music. You will laugh and dance for joy at Shamanes gigs in SL. And Winters is a serious jazz and classical pianist in SL. No commoners' parties at his gigs; it's ballroom dance fare at its finest. Yes, they are the same RL person, but 2 vastly different alter egos. Winters even digitally alters his voice (lowers the tone), to complete his amazing transformation.

Of the top 100 SL musicians that I have discovered for 2 years, well nigh 80% are US, English-speaking European, or Australian. They could all be from Kansas City, from what I gander of their accents! lol. Horacios and Winters are different. International. And they have boldly ventured onto international stages of SL and reproduced their wonderful culture for us all to enjoy. Hurray! Enriching our SL experience tremendously!

I asked Horacios some basic questions. Hey, why do you like SL, what else to you do here? And whatnot. lol Horacios loves SL because he can "Shared the time with the wonderful people." His favorite SL performers are Dexter Ihnen  and Maximilion Kleene. I know Max's gigs, he's terrific. We need to check out Dexter! Oy! Horacios likes to hang out in SL at regular gigs at Cocoa Beach club. And he enjoys building and making friends in SL for fun.

Some other SL funsters who enjoy Horacios and Winters, had this to share. Bree Birke at Nitida Ridge Club said, "Shamanes comes to you live from Argentina - a versatile band whose main genre is Latin pop but who are known to swing into rock, blues, and jazz."  Maebh Jewell at Smooth Jazz Club says "Horacios is part of the Latin Band Shamanes and will get you dancing with a great mix of Latin love songs, salsa, merengue, boleros and bossa." Raredread Nightfire at Drunken Drow Club said: "Winters is an amazing pianist from Buenos Aires!  Audiences around the world cannot help dancing when he plays Tango, Bossa, Jazz and Boleros. Hearts sing when Winters delves into classical music, delivering Chopin, Beethoven and Mozart with the touch of a master!"

Scanning my list of the top 100 all around SL musicians, I can recommend these International performers to round out your SL music experience: Naphtali Hawks (Jamaica), Sioux Nikolaidis (Russia), TB Andel, Naphtali Hawks (gypsy music), and Jano Runo (Mexico). I am digging deep and that's all I can readily recall. And you know, that's not good enough! I would like to see SL culture way more Internationalized. From the Latin music world, great performers like Horacios and Jano are outstanding role models for public diplomacy and internationalization of SL music, and I hope a lot more performers will come forward in SL to emulate their bravely transforming cultural barriers into cultural opportunities.

Also, I teach free classes 6am SL time on Sundays by sharing my talent lists and lots of power party tips and freebies for SL funsters and music promoters. My class is at:
