    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     SHeydenreich told me, 'There were a very steady flow of publicity about the tower locally, and as residents were all interested in buying apartments for being told how 'prestigious' this building was going to be.This was quite an unusual opportunity because non-workers couldn't get anywhere near the construction site at the time.'

    I had the great opportunity to get a sneak peak in Sept 2007 while the Burj Dubai was still under construction. I made my way up to the 104th floor along with the workers in the construction lift.

     

    A view from the top made all the other iconic buildings along the main street, Sheikh Zayed Road look really insignificant.
